One among the 17 regions of the Indian Railways South Western Railway Region covers almost every part of Karnataka State.

As regards the allocation of grants towards the development of South Western Railways there is a significant difference between grants given by the former UPA Government and that of Shri. Modi’s Govt. in the last Ten Years.

In 2023 budgetary sanctions out of total Rs. 9,200 Crore allocations towards South Western Railways, Rs. 7,561 the major pie was available for Karnataka.

During the regime of the UPA government from 2009 to 2014, the annual average allocation of funds towards South Western Railways was Rs. 835 Crore.

Whereas during the period from 2014 to 2022, the annual average allocation of grants by the BJP Government was Rs. 3,424 Crore.

HUBBALLI RAILWAY STATION IS NAMED AFTER SHRI. SIDDHAROODHA SWAMIJI
Measuring 1,505 meters in length, the Hubballi Railway station platform is acclaimed as the longest platform globally. The Hubballi Railway Station has been named after Shri. Siddhartharoodha Swamiji. It has been upgraded to world standards by spending Rs. 115 Crores on its modernization and beautification.

In contrast to the total expenditure of Rs. 8,913 Crore towards the development of the Hubballi South-Western Railway region by the UPA Govt. during the period from 2004 to 2014, one can witness the magnificent contributions of Shri. ‘s central Govt. allocation of Rs. 32,753 Crores during the period from 2014 to 2023.

THE VANDE BHARATH TRAIN FACILITY
Vande Bharat, the nation’s prestigious railway, runs at 150 km/h. The train, built with the latest technology, now operates daily between Dharwad and Bengaluru. It stands as a proud gift from the Modi Government to the people of this area.

NEW ENTRANCE GATE TO HUBBALLI RAILWAY STATION
The first entrance gate of Hubballi Railway Station was developed with expenditures of Rs. 39.9 Crore. The second entrance gate was developed with Rs. 3.35 Crore, and the third entrance gate was developed with an expenditure of Rs. 115 Crore.

MODERN STATION OF RAILWAY STATION
In an expenditure of Rs. 20 Crore furnished with the latest available facilities and the renovation works of Railway Stations have been completed with high success radiating the literary and cultural beauty of Dharwad and they have been appreciated by all the people.

In an expenditure of Rs. 17.2 Crore under an Amrut Bharath Nildan Yojana, the Railway Station development work at Alnavar is in progress.

Unkal-Navlur Railway stations have been redesigned free from air pollution and environmentally friendly. The development works at Unkal Railway Station and the construction of the platform at Kumbarganvi Railway Station have been completed by spending Rs. 1.09 and 1.67 Crore respectively.

CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PARALLEL ROUTE
198 kms long the Hubballi-Chikkajajur connecting Parallel route has been developed with a plan outlay of Rs. 1,800 Crore.

The long awaited dream of constructing the Hubballi-Dharwad Railway parallel route has been materialised.

245 kms long occupied Hospet Tinai Ghat parallel route has been developed with an expenditure of Rs. 1,812 Crore.

DHARWAD- BELAGAVI RAILWAY ROUTE
The Central Govt. has accorded a sanction and released Rs. 927 Crore funds toward the laying of the long demand Dharwad-Kittur-Belagavi new Railway line.

CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY BYPASS
A 10.3 kms long exclusively new Bypass Railway line has been constructed between Kusugal Station to Amargol to free Hubballi Railway station from the congestion of Railway Goods carriages with on expenditure of Rs. 130 Crores.

ELECTRIFICATION OF RAILWAY ROUTES
The Electrification work of the 342 kms long Hospete-Vasco Railway route with an expenditure of Rs. 744 Crore has been completed. The special feature of electrification work is that this was scheduled, completed and inagurated during the tenure of Hon’ble PM Modi.

CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY OVERBRIDGES
Catering to the long demand of the rural people for the construction of over and under bridges at Unkal, Sainagar, Dharwad, Karjagi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Mugad, Saunshi and Kundgol Railway Stations have now been materialised with the financial assistance of the Central Govt.

ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವಲಯ

ಭಾರತದ ೧೭ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲೊಂದಾದ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವಲಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಹಿಂದಿನ ಯುಪಿಎ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಳೆದ ೧೦ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿಜಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅನುದಾನದ ಅಂತರ ಅಜಗಜಾಂತರವಾಗಿದೆ.

೨೦೨೩ರ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾದ ಒಟ್ಟು ಅನುದಾನ ೯,೨೦೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಅನುದಾನ ೭,೫೬೧ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ.

೨೦೦೯ ರಿಂದ ೨೦೧೪ರ ವರೆಗೆ ಯುಪಿಎ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಗೆ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಅನುದಾನ ೮೩೫ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ.

೨೦೧೪ ರಿಂದ ೨೦೨೨ರ ವರೆಗೆ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಅನುದಾನ ೩,೪೨೪ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ.

ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ಧಾರೂಢರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿದೆ
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ವಿಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅತಿ ಉದ್ದದ ಪ್ಲಾಟ್ ಫಾರ್ಮ್ (೧,೫೦೫ ಮೀಟರ್) ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ‘ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ಧಾರೂಢ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ’ ಎಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ೧೧೫ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವದರ್ಜೆಗೆ ಏರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವಲಯದ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ವೆಚ್ಚ ೨೦೦೪ ರಿಂದ ೨೦೧೪ರ ವರೆಗೆ ೮,೯೧೩ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ. ೨೦೧೪ ರಿಂದ ೨೦೨೩ ರವರೆಗೆ ೩೨,೭೫೩ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ.

ವಂದೇ ಭಾರತ ರೈಲು
ಪ್ರತಿ ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ೧೫೦ ಞm ವೇಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಲಿಸುವ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ವಂದೇ ಭಾರತ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ರೈಲು ಈಗ ಧಾರವಾಡ – ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನವೂ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ನಿರ್ಮಿತವಾದ ಈ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರವು ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಮೋದಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ನೀಡಿದ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ನೂತನ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರ
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ೩೯.೯ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರ ೩.೩೫ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರ ಮತ್ತು ೧೧೫ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ತೃತೀಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ
೨೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮೆರುಗು ನೀಡುವ ರೈಲು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ಮರು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅಮೃತ ಭಾರತ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಯೋಜನೆ ಅಡಿ ಅಳ್ನಾವರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ೧೭.೨ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ
ಉಣಕಲ್, ನವಲೂರು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳು ಮರು ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ ಮುಕ್ತ., ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಉಣಕಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಾಯಿ ೧.೦೯ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಂಬಾರಗಣವಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಪ್ಲಾಟ್-ಫಾರ್ಮ್ಅನ್ನು ೧.೬೭ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹೊಸ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ – ಚಿಕ್ಕಜಾಜೂರು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವ ೧೯೮ ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ೧,೮೦೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಧಾರವಾಡ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವು ಬಹುದಿನಗಳ ಕನಸನ್ನು ನನಸಾಗಿಸಿದೆ.
ಹೊಸಪೇಟೆ ಟೀನೈನ್ ಘಾಟ್ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ೨೪೫ ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ೧,೮೧೨ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಧಾರವಾಡ-ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಮಂಜೂರಿ
ಬಹು ದಿನಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯಾದ ಧಾರವಾಡ – ಕಿತ್ತೂರು – ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಹೊಸ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಲೈನ್ ಮಂಜೂರಿಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ೯೨೭ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಬೈಪಾಸ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಗೂಡ್ಸ್ ರೈಲುಗಳ ಒತ್ತಡದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಕುಸುಗಲ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಿಂದ ಅಮರಗೋಳ ವರೆಗೆ ಗೂಡ್ಸ್ ರೈಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ೧೦.೩ ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ಉದ್ದದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಬೈಪಾಸ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ತಗುಲಿದ ವೆಚ್ಚ ೧೩೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯುದ್ದೀಕರಣ
೭೪೪ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು ೩೪೨ ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಉದ್ದದ ಹೊಸಪೇಟೆ-ವಾಸ್ಕೋ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ವಿದ್ಯುದ್ದೀಕರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸಫಲವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸದರಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯು ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರ ಕಾಲಾವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೆ ಮಂಜೂರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಧ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ
ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗದ ಹಾಗೂ ರೈತರ ಅಶೋತ್ತರಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಉಣಕಲ್, ಸಾಯಿನಗರ, ಧಾರವಾಡ, ಕರ್ಜಿಗಿ, ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ – ಧಾರವಾಡ, ಮುಗದ, ಸಂಶಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂದಗೋಳ ಬಳಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಳ ಸೇತುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಬಹುದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದೀಗ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅನುದಾನದಿಂದ ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಂಡಿವೆ.
