It is an ambitious scheme of Hon’ble Shri. Narendra Modi, launched in 2014 based on the slogan “Mera Khata Mera Bhagya Vidhata.” A person can open a bank account under this scheme with zero balance. In the country as a whole, in 2015, 17.9 crore account holders under this scheme could scale up to 28.35 crore accounts by 2022, exhibiting the popularity of the scheme.

In the Dharwad Parliamentary constituency, a total of 10.35 lakh accounts have been opened under the Jan Dhan Scheme, of which 5,73,639 are women account holders, constituting 55% of the total.

ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಜನ್ ಧನ್ ಯೋಜನೆ

೨೦೧೪ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು “ಮೇರಾ ಖಾತಾ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ವಿಧಾತಾ” ಘೋಷಣೆಯಡಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಮಹತಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿ ಯೋಜನೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಖಾತೆದಾರನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಠೇವಣಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ೨೦೧೫ ರಲ್ಲಿ ೧೭.೯ ಕೋಟಿ ಜನರ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆಗಳಿದ್ದದ್ದು ೨೦೨೨ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ೨೮.೩೫ ಕೋಟಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಜನ್ ಧನ್ ಖಾತೆಗಳು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಧಾರವಾಡ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು ೧೦.೩೫ ಲಕ್ಷ ಖಾತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜನ್ ಧನ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ತೆರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ೫,೭೩,೬೩೯ (ಶೇ.೫೫%) ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಜನ್ ಧನ್ ಖಾತೆಗಳಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷ.
