During 2020-21, India imported 133.5 lakh tonnes of edible oils from other countries, of which the component of palm oil works out to 56%. Modi government established the National Mission on Edible Oils in the country. This mission aimed to increase the indigenous availability of edible oil and also to reduce the burden of import. In my parliamentary constituency, to enhance the production of oil seeds under agriculture and horticulture crops, Rs. 8 Crore has been disbursed to 25,000 farmers in the form of subsidy.

ಖಾದ್ಯ ತೈಲಗಳ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಿಷನ್

೨೦೨೦-೨೧ರ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ೧೩೩.೫ ಲಕ್ಷ ಟನ್ ಖಾದ್ಯ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಆಮದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ೫೬% ಪಾಮ್ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಪಾಲೇ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದನ್ನರಿತ ಮೋದಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಖಾದ್ಯ ತೈಲಗಳ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಿಷನ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಇದರ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಖಾದ್ಯ ತೈಲದ ಲಭ್ಯತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಆಮದು ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ ಅಡಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸಲು ೮.೦೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ೨೫,೦೦೦ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಧನ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
