During this modern era travelling by air is one of the essential thing. Viewing this changes Central Govt. has supported financially in order to modernize the Hubballi Airport.
Our Hubballi Airport has been acclaimed as the first green airport in our state. This achievement is possible thanks to the admirable efforts of PM Shri. Narendra Modi. A well-furnished airport has been established in Hubballi with an expenditure of Rs. 160 Crore. The airport area is set to be extended to 15,950 sq. mtr. Additionally, a grant of Rs. 340.47 Crore has been released to upgrade the Hubballi Airport to internation al standards, enabling it to accommodate 2,400 passengers at a time.
COMMENCEMENT OF CARGO TERMINAL
The Cargo Terminal construction work at Hubballi Airport with the grant of Rs. 60.6 Crore from the Central Government assistance is in progress. In addition, a provision is also envisaged to set up a Pilot Training Centre at the Airport.

ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಜೀವನ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮಾನ ಯಾನದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯಕ ಮತ್ತು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅನುದಾನದಿಂದ ಆಧುನಿಕತೆಯ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮೊದಲ ಹಸಿರು ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವೆಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವು ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ೧೬೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವು ೧೫,೯೫೦ ಚದರ ಮೀಟರ್ ವಿಸ್ತಾರಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ದರ್ಜೆಗೆ ಏರಿಸಲು ೩೪೦.೪೭ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಅನುದಾನವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಏಕಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ೨೪೦೦ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ.
ಕಾರ್ಗೋ ಟರ್ಮಿನಲ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಾರಂಭ
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಗೋ ಟರ್ಮಿನಲ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಾರಂಭಕ್ಕೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ೬೦.೬ ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಅನುದಾನದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮಾನ ಚಾಲನಾ ತರಬೇತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೂ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ದೆಹಲಿಗೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವ ಇಂಡಿಗೋ ವಿಮಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿರುವುದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಸಂಗತಿ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಗರಗಳಿಗೂ ವಿಮಾನಗಳು ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ.
