In pursuit of education and to shape their future, many students from poor families visit Dharwad, renowned as a Vidya Kashi (City of Education). To facilitate studying for these students, a well-furnished two-story hostel has been constructed in Dharwad with a Central Government grant, at an expenditure of Rs. 13.50 Crore.

ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂತನ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕಾಶಿಯೆಂದೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಧಾರವಾಡ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಜನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಜನೆಗಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅನೇಕ ಜನ ಬಡವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕಲಿತು ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕಾಲಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಧಾರವಾಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಅನುಕೂಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅನುದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ೧೩.೫೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ಎರಡು ಅಂತಸ್ತಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ನಿಲಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಒಲವು, ಕಾಳಜಿ ಇಂದು ಧಾರವಾಡ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.
