Since June 2024, Shri Joshi has taken on the additional responsibilities of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy. He has brought a renewed focus to both sectors.
One of the most important initiatives under his leadership is the PM SuryaGhar Muft Bijli Yojana, launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This scheme aims to:
– Provide free electricity to households by promoting rooftop solar installations
– Help families reduce their electricity bills
– Increase the use of clean and renewable energy sources
– Support India’s national and international clean energy goals
Alongside this, Shri Joshi has worked to strengthen food distribution systems and improve consumer protection laws, ensuring better access and transparency for citizens.
