Shri. Joshi has been contributing immensely towards strengthening the Public Sector Undertakings under his portfolio including Coal India & its subsidiaries, NALCO, MECL, NLC and HCL.
Mr. Joshi believes a self-reliant can propel and fastrack India’s rise to the league of Superpowers. It is this belief of Shri. Joshi that has been the driving force behind some of the major Policy Reforms under the Ministry of Coal & Mines, including landmark interventions like introduction of commercial coal mining, amendment of the MMDR Act to ensure allocation of mineral resources through auction & competitive bidding, ensuring ransparency and better Governance, ensuring ease-of-doing business – steps which will go a long way in fulfilling energy demands of the country. Under Shri Joshi’s charge, country’s coal production has witnessed record growth, clocking 893 Million Tonnes in 2022-23, the highest-ever in the history of India.
The achievements and contribution of the coal and mining sector to fulfilling India’s energy needs is significant. Coal is the very source from where India gains its strength, and Shri. Joshi is leading from the front to secure Country’s Energy needs.
Shri. Joshi has always fought for the causes of his constituency, state and the country. He has always displayed compassion for the poor and downtrodden. His untiring efforts on the ground make Shri. Pralhad Joshi an endearing personality and a social worker. He is also contributing liberally and is engaged in providing free mid-day meals project in State of Karnataka.
Born on 27th November, 1962 in Bijapur, Karnataka, Shri. Joshi comes from a humble and respectable family. Besides his social and political interests, he is a voracious reader and has extensive interest in Indian Classical music and cricket.
